Badman reviews important recovery milestones, including physical therapy, sling use, sleeping, driving, pain and swelling, and safely progressing your activities. At the three-week follow-up, patients typically have X-rays to confirm that the shoulder replacement components remain in the appropriate position, the surgical incision is evaluated, and the waterproof dressing is removed. Patients are also commonly given a prescription to begin physical therapy.
