3 Weeks After Shoulder Replacement: PT, Sling, Sleeping & Driving

by IndyShoulder | 17 days ago

What should you expect about three weeks after shoulder replacement surgery? In this video, Dr. Brian L. Badman reviews important recovery milestones, including physical therapy, sling use, sleeping, driving, pain and swelling, and safely progressing your activities. At the three-week follow-up, patients typically have X-rays to confirm that the shoulder replacement components remain in the appropriate position, the surgical incision is evaluated, and the waterproof dressing is removed. Patients are also commonly given a prescription to begin physical therapy.
