The set allows for precise cutting and placement of circular dowels to resurface the cartilage with either a single dowel or for the placement of overlapping dowels to cover the defect. The use of a fresh osteochondral allograft allows for restoration of the articular surface with a mature, hyaline cartilage scaffold that contains viable chondrocytes.
