Hip Arthroscopy: Full Thickness Delaminated Acetabular Cartilage Flap with Microfracture

Acetabular chondral damage, chondral flap, or "carpet delamination" is clearly seen at the acetabular side of the joint. This damage is typical for CAM type femoro-acetabular impingement. Since the flap is thick, microfracture was performed beneath the flap. Three months post operatively on a diagnostic arthroscopy, the flap has healed.
