Labrum of the Hip | Stephanie Mayer MD, Orthopedic Surgeon | UCHealth

The labrum in the hip is a ring of cartilage around the edge of the hip socket. This cartilage acts as kind of a shock absorber in the hip, but also to provide a cushion within the hip as you go through range of motion and during weight bearing and exercise activities.
