Northwell Health first in LI to perform AR-guided hip replacement

by Keith R. Reinhardt, MD | 2 years ago

Northwell Health is the first health system in Long Island and the only one currently in NYS to use augmented reality (AR) for hip replacement surgeries. Dr. Keith Reinhardt, chief of joint reconstruction at South Shore University Hospital in Bayshore, was the first to use HipInsight – a technology that gives him x-ray like vision of a patient’s anatomy – as he performs hip surgeries.
